For the last nine months I have slowly been working on the nursery and finally had it finished just a week before Bailey was born. Since we didn’t know what the gender of the baby was, I kept it very neutral.

Now that we have a baby girl, I may or may not change a few things here and there down the road, but for now I am loving the simplicity of it.

I have had my heart set on this black Jenny Lind crib since before I was even pregnant.

This room used to be our vintage inspired guest room before we turned it into the nursery, and even then I had an antique Jenny Lind twin bed in there. I am obsessed with them, to say the least!

This cute vintage basket I picked up at an antique store is great for throws, blankets, and stuffed animals. Baskets of any kind are just a must for me in almost every room. Not only do they make for pretty decor just sitting around, but they are perfect for extra storage too.

The alphabet and numbers scroll was something I found at Hobby Lobby for fifty percent off. I love the colors of it mixed with the wood touches, and just thought it would go great above the crib, especially overlapping the bead board wall molding we have in there.

And don’t worry, little miss isn’t sleeping in here just yet so I had to make the crib look extra cozy by throwing in some pillows, and a few stuffed animals for the time being. All will be removed once we transition from the bassinet.

The green changing table and dresser were Facebook Marketplace finds that I scored for thirty dollars total and made over. You can see the before and after in this Nursery Furniture Makeover post.

I love adding vintage pieces wherever I can in our house, so I used these old printer drawers and an old game board for a small gallery like wall about the changing table. In my opinion, you can never go wrong with wood tones, so this was a great fit.

I dug up more antique finds from my basement like this mirror, tool box, and old books. And our sweet girls ultrasound picture just had to be framed and showcased for this space. Her first picture in mommas belly.

The grey swivel glider was something we purchased last minute online from Walmart. We had an old wood glider but I wanted something a little more cozy, and I really love this one!

I also added two wood shelves on each side of the window, so I could display even more goodies to give this room some character and charm. The brackets are from IKEA, and the wood is just some scrap pieces I had that I stained and cut to size.

Like I said, I may make some changes to make it a little more girly in here later on, but for now I love it just the way it is. Simple and neutral like the rest of our house, and cozy too!

Nothing beats rocking our little girl to sleep on a fussy night, with just the floor lamp on and her all cuddled up! It’s the best.

Hope you all love it as much as we do!

  1. Hi there! LOVE the nursery! I just had a question about which color of glider did y’all choose. Love the grey! But there’s a taupe and a charcoal option! The charcoal on Walmart’s website is super dark..is that the one y’all chose?

    Thanks so much!

  3. Absolutely love the nursery. You amaze me in how you can find so many treasures especially furniture that fit perfectly.

  4. Love the nursery! All the details are perfect. I agree with adding some pink as she goes into the crib. Great idea for the printers boxes. We had two on our son’s wall when he was little. He loved collecting his little tiny treasures and kept them in the boxes as he grew. all the rocks and twigs proudly sat there with his little mini cars.

  5. I love it Ashley! I also loved it’s former life as a guest room. And I am so happy for you and for the safe arrival of your precious little gift!

  6. Looks like a room that grow up along with Bailey; only need to change out the bed, and most of the rest would be good to go. LOVE the neutral colors, but think that I’d add a few “pops of pink” in the bedding maybe???? Now that you know she is a girl.

  7. I love the nursery and how you have decorated it. I bet you can’t stay away from cuddling Bailey. This is such a wonderous time for you. Ashley, I am so, so happy for you. God has truly blessed you and I know you will be a wonderful mother.
