Back to School Basket
Create a fun and unique back to school basket to celebrate the upcoming new school year. Pack it full of supplies or little gifts to spark some excitement for your kiddos.
Back to school for the kiddos can bring on so many different emotions. Sadness that summer is coming to an end, but also excitement for a fresh new school year.
I know for me, I’m sending my first born off to Kindergarten and I’m not sure what to think about it just yet! She went to pre-k, so that should help ease the transition a little more for both of us I think.
So in the midst of navigating through getting us all ready for a new school year, I thought I would share the back to school basket I made for my daughter.
I’m a sucker for a good gift basket, especially one that I can have fun curating. I grabbed an empty garden basket we had, and starting collecting some school things I knew she would like.
Fun Notebooks and Back to School Pajamas
You can never go wrong with a cutesy gingham notebook. And you can also never go wrong with any and everything that involves poppits. An easy win-win.
Both can come in hand for kindergarten doodles, or mom might just steal the gingham one for herself. Who really knows…
Both notebooks came from 5 Below.
My favorite kids gift basket addition is always pajamas. I have a small addiction to buying them for my kids because they are always so fun with their patterns and themes.
I found these school inspired jammies from Old Navy, and thought they would be perfect for her first official back to school pregame the night before.
Back to School Mommy and Me Bracelets
A friend of mine makes all kinds of beautiful and fun bracelets, and when I saw this adorable little set I had to have it.
It’s a bracelet for me and one for my daughter to wear on her first day of school, so we can think of each other when we look down and see it. The little note says it all. Seriously just too cute.
Her shop is called A Simple Hobby – Bracelets by ASH, and you can find her on Facebook.
First Day of School Books and an Initial Patch
Of course no kids gift basket is complete without a few books to read. My daughter loves bedtime stories, so I found these two cute books that hopefully get her in the spirit for her first day.
Back to school books are a great way to ease any nervousness, and get them ready for a great day.
While out shopping, I’ve noticed a lot of patches and pins to decorate the kids backpacks with to add a little something extra. I love that they can personalize some of their stuff with things that they love.
I got her a B initial, and I am trying to find maybe a soccer and baseball, and a few other things to make her smile.
Back to School Basket Paper Goodies
Now the creative side of me absolutely loves to collect fun cups, napkins, plates, and paper activities for any holiday or season. This time I scored some really great goodies.
I found these back to school placemats and the back to school pennant at Home Goods, the cups and napkins I found at Michaels, and the ruler ribbon is from Hobby Lobby.
Honestly these are some of my favorite projects to do for my girls. Anything extra to brighten their days, and make them excited for a big event, I’m all in on.
Being a mom is just the best, and I’m hoping if you have kiddos starting school soon that they have the very best first day back!
