Touches of Christmas in the Bedroom
One of the best things I started to do each year is add touches of Christmas in the bedroom. It takes our home to a new level of cozy during the holidays.
Decorating for Christmas has become more than just a main room thing in our house. Once I started adding touches of Christmas in the bedroom, everything changed.
Talk about a level up in cozy, but with minimal decor. I just started adding very small holiday pieces to everyones bedrooms, and I never looked back.
Per usual with decorating, I don’t break the bank, and I mainly use what I have. So I wasn’t going crazy. The difference it made was huge.
So here is what I did to easily turn our bedroom into a cozier holiday retreat.
Wreath with Ribbon
Wreaths are not just for the front door, they can add a touch of festive flair to any room, including the bedroom. I added a simple green wreath with the same velvet ribbon from our Christmas tree.
Placing it above the headboard created an instant focal point. The velvet ribbon beautifully contrasts with the green wreath, making the room feel warm and inviting.
Wood Beads on the Headboard
I had an extra set of dark wood bead garland that I usually add to our guest room headboard. But now since we don’t have a guest room anymore, it migrated to our bedroom.
I’m not mad about it. Simply draping it in on the furniture added a little bit more texture, which is always a nice addition.
Cozy Winter Bedding
Creating a warm festive bedroom wouldn’t be complete without adding in cozy winter bedding and throw pillows. I used our normal bedding but adding in a white knitted blanket, and wool throw pillows.
The bed instantly became more cozy and wintery, and it’s such a nice feeling climbing into it on cold nights.
Christmas Accents
I spread around some Christmas accent pieces on our nightstands and dresser. You can never go wrong with these holiday staples in my opinion.
Taper candles in brass candlesticks, mini trees, and wooden nutcrackers on the nightstands. Bottle brush trees, and a vintage mini crock with glass ornaments on the dresser.
Stockings and an Advent Calendar
We have some hooks by our bedroom door so I added a couple knit stockings with the same velvet color ribbon I’ve used throughout the house. Along with a hanging advent calendar.
Not to mention I changed out the throw blankets I had hanging with more wintery ones to grab when needed.
When I say I’ll never go back, I mean it. I love the way these small easy Christmas additions change the overall feeling of our cozy room.
This is your sign to start adding touches of Christmas in the bedroom.
