Raise your hand if you are so incredibly happy that spring is here! Yeah, me too! The grass is green, the trees are blooming, and I’ve been opening up our windows a lot lately to let the fresh breeze in. It’s just pure bliss after the long winter we have had here in the midwest. I hope that wherever you are, the weather is treating you well.
I know I keep saying that the days are flying by, but you guys, how is it already halfway through April? I am pretty excited though because that means this weekend is Easter! I’m headed to my grandparents country house on Saturday to celebrate with lots of yummy food, family, and our traditional Easter egg hunt for the littles. Give this preggo some good eats and nice weather and I am one happy lady!
Spring is such a great time to get together with all your favorite people and just enjoy good company and great food. Whether it be a big holiday or just a small gathering, I have a few fun spring tablescape place card ideas to make your tables cute, and your guests feel welcomed!
When I design my tablescape settings, I always start with the basics. A plate charger, dinner plate, salad plate, cloth napkin, and then a little something extra for the place cards. Obviously the silverware and glasses are a part of that too, but lets focus on the fun stuff today!
I love to get super creative with the place cards, because I think it is so fun to go along with the theme of the season or holiday. When I’m out shopping, I always keep my eye out for little trinkets that are super cheap, that I know would work great for any upcoming gatherings.
These tiny galvanized metal watering pots are seriously the cutest thing ever, and I grabbed them from Hobby Lobby when they were half off, so I think I paid a buck for each. I added a little faux greenery and toped it off with a clothespin clipped name tag. If this doesn’t scream spring vibes, I don’t know what does!
My next idea was a quick DIY. I found some mini grapevine wreaths also from Hobby Lobby, and using floral wire, attached some clipped faux greenery I had from a garland to the wreath. Then placed the name card on top to finish it off. Simple, but adorable!
All of the name cards I just printed off my computer with my favorite handwritten fonts, and cut them into different shapes and sizes. I used thick white cardstock and craft paper for these so they were a bit more sturdy to work with. I really love how they turned out.
You could even use small faux flowers on these, or even moss. There are so many possibilities, so get creative and customize them to fit exactly what you are looking for!
And lastly, to me the epitome of spring can be summed up with just a terra cotta pot. Don’t those always immediately make you think of this beautiful season too?
And I know you have some laying around! I found these smaller ones at Michaels, added some more faux greenery, and a little wooden stick with the name card glued to it (reminded me of a plant marker). So simple!
If you aren’t a terra cotta color fan, paint them! Again, think outside the box when you are being creative, and make them your own. This is my favorite part of being a DIYer, you can customize all of these ideas to fit what look or vibe you are going for.
These would also make great gifts for your guests to actually taken home with them too. Maybe add in a packet of flower seeds and you have the perfect spring favor. Knock out two birds with one stone!
