Three Simple DIY Christmas Decorations

My Christmas decorating has officially started!!! Usually, I wait until the weekend after Thanksgiving to put up the tree and really get into the holiday spirit, but this year I just couldn’t help myself! Tonight the tree will go up, and all my finishing touches will be put into place, and heck maybe I’ll even turn on some Christmas music. I made a trip to Michaels recently and found all kinds of random holiday décor that I got great deals on. Most of it was the DIY type, my favorite kind! I wanted to share three super simple ideas that really take no time at all to throw together.

1. RUSTIC WOODEN CHRISTMAS TREES

I found these cute little wooden Christmas trees that I thought would be great added to my rustic décor theme. If you follow my blog, you know I love stained natural wood, so that is what I did with these. I added a coat of stain and then sanded the edges once it was dry. I think they turned out great, very simple, and did I mention they were only $1.50 (and I had a coupon so they were even cheaper!).

2. CHRISTMAS GLASS JAR SNOW GLOBES

I’ve seen these done for years and have always wanted to do some. They are so easy to make it is ridiculous!  I bought these little trees and a bag of fake snow at Michaels, and I already had the empty jars at home. I used a hot glue gun to glue down the tree to the lid, filled up the jar with snow, screwed on the lid, flipped it over, and done! They are adorable!

3. SNOWFLAKE GARLAND

Micheals has a box of the cutest little wooden Christmas cutouts, and they are just cents! I grabbed handfuls of them! These snowflake ones I loved and decided they would work great for some garland on my new entryway coat hooks. I stained them, then I dry brushed them with ivory paint. Once they were dry I used some sand paper on the tips, then used my hot glue gun to attach them to some red and white twine. Love them!!!
