DIY Wooden Leaf Fall Wreath
Make this DIY wooden leaf fall wreath with minimal supplies in just under five minutes. Perfect for a super simple, neutral seasonal look.
I’m a huge fan of quick and easy DIY’s that just about anyone can do. This cutesy DIY wooden leaf fall wreath I made is definitely one of them!
At the beginning of each season, I love to take a trip to my favorite craft stores and see what they’ve put out for the upcoming months. Usually one of the things I always tend to grab are the raw wood cutouts, because I know I can customize them however I want.
I came across these little bags of wooden leaves from Hobby Lobby, and immediately knew they would be perfect to create a simple fall wreath. I also grabbed a few different sizes of MDF wreath rings as my base to attach them too.
The least amount of supplies, the better! And I promise, this project is cheap, easy, and a perfect addition to your timeless fall decor stash.
Supplies Needed for Fall Wreath
- Wooden Leaf Cutouts (Here are the ones I used from Hobby Lobby) – I grabbed 3 bags for more of a variety, and they were on Fall sale
- MDF Wreath Ring (or any wreath ring – I used a 12″ and 6″ )
- Glue
- Ribbon
Instructions to Make Fall Wreath
- I started by laying out all of the wood leaf cutouts, and then placing them how I wanted on the wreath ring. I made sure to switch up my kinds of leaves and point them in all different directions so it wasn’t so uniform but still had a nice flow. Tip: Take a picture on your phone in case the pieces get messed up so you know how you had it.
2. Next, I used a hot glue gun to attach each leaf, one at a time, to the wreath ring. I was careful not to bump anything out of order, and keep my positioning.
3. I added some brown velvet ribbon to hang my wreath, and that was that! So quick, so simple, so cute!
Customize the Fall Wreath
I’ve probably said this a million time on this blog, but I love projects you can customize to fit your style.
I personally love the look of this wreath as the raw wood, however you could stain them, paint them, have your kids color them with markers, literally anything you want!
Instead of hanging the ribbon like I did, you could add a bow. Just create something that you love, there are no wrong ways of doing home decor.
Play around with different sizes too. I used a 12″ for my shutters, and a 6″ to add a little touch of fall in my daughters bedroom.
I absolutely love how this subtle touch of fall looks hanging on her peg rail with some green velvet ribbon.
So simple! Let me know if you recreate this, and how you customized it to fit your style! I always love hearing when you all use my tutorials in your home!
