When it comes to Valentines Day, your mind probably wanders to roses, chocolates and a romantic night out. Or maybe it doesn’t. Maybe your ideal Valentines Day looks a little different than it did years ago, and that’s perfectly okay! I am a homebody like no other, so this holiday is best spent with a low key night in, nothing fancy, just relaxing with my husband. That’s right, this thirty year old has already reached old lady status…like five years ago, actually. You are about to see how simple I can get around here!
Oh, Valentines Day. You either love it, or you hate it. I have always been a fan, even when I was a single twenty-something year old. For a few years before my husband came along, my Valentine was my little nephew, and our date night consisted of going to the movies and McDonalds Happy Meals. I treasure those memories, and I look forward to making more once we are blessed with our own children. For some reason I relate Valentines Day more towards kids than adults, even if it is suppose to be the most romantic day of the year. Maybe because I always enjoyed making Valentine boxes for school, and all the heart shaped crafts and treats. It’s just a lovely day all around, in my opinion.
Christmas is coming up quick my friends!!! I wanted to do one last big Christmas project before things got busy with visiting family and going out of town for all our Christmas festivities, so I put together this adorable little Hot Cocoa Bar in our kitchen dining room! It was one of the most fun projects I have worked on and I love how it turned out. I wish I would have put it up sooner because it really makes our house look so much more festive for the holidays. This post was meant to go up Monday but I have had computer issues galore that are still being worked on. I have been so anxious to get this post up that my very generous brother let me use his computer to work on it, so thanks to him!!!
I am a very simple Christmas decorator. I like sticking to natural & neutral color schemes and using the same textures, like wood and greenery. This year my house is super simple with Boxwood wreaths, wooden rustic décor, and a lot of red berry branches. As much as I love the look of hanging wreaths on doors, I wanted to find something different for the doors inside my house. I bought these raw wood reindeer cutouts from Michaels last month and never ended up using them for anything. I stained them and they sat around for a while, until I came up with an idea that is so easy it is ridiculous!!!
Well hello there! Happy Friday!!! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving last week, and are enjoying the beginning of December!!! I cannot believe how fast Fall went by and that it is already Christmas time. My tree is up, most of my shopping is done, and all of the presents I bought are already wrapped. This is way ahead of schedule for me! I am a last minute shopper every year, but I thought I would start early this time, and it is a lot less stressful! I am really loving this holiday season so far. I have come across soooo much Christmas inspiration lately on Pinterest, Instagram, and all the talented bloggers I follow, that I had to make this my Christmas edition post. So here it is! And everything below is just so lovely!!! Enjoy!!!
My Christmas decorating has officially started!!! Usually, I wait until the weekend after Thanksgiving to put up the tree and really get into the holiday spirit, but this year I just couldn’t help myself! Tonight the tree will go up, and all my finishing touches will be put into place, and heck maybe I’ll even turn on some Christmas music. I made a trip to Michaels recently and found all kinds of random holiday décor that I got great deals on. Most of it was the DIY type, my favorite kind! I wanted to share three super simple ideas that really take no time at all to throw together.
