You know when you have one of those rooms that you just cannot get right for the life of you? You slap on a new coat of paint, thinking maybe that is the problem. It wasn’t. You move around furniture but it just doesn’t feel or look right. You have a million nail holes in the wall from the countless amount of wall hangings you hung, then removed, then hung again. That pretty much sums up my home office. It started with a sports theme, but then I convinced my husband to pack it all up and let me decorate it like I wanted! To be fair, I was working my day job from home at the time so I was spending forty hours a week staring at baseballs and hockey pucks. I was ready for a change, and about a few dozen attempts later, I think it’s time to share the current state of my Vintage Home Office!
All in the Details
I’m pretty sure I have been saying our guest bedroom is almost done for a really long time now. Although I consider everything a work in progress, I thought it was time to share how it looks as of now. Then I figure I can fill you all in as I go with future updates. I love where the space is at now, and I only have a few minor things I may change. Due to my love for antiques I am constantly switching things out when I find new goodies, and this room has already seen its fair share of changes. That’s why I love the modern farmhouse style. You can pair new pieces with old vintage ones, and it just flows.
You’ve seen this room before, probably because it is currently my favorite in our house. It all started with a beautiful handcrafted farmhouse table made by my talented father in law, and the decoration process was all downhill from there! You know when you completely revolve a room design around a specific piece of furniture, or a certain fabric that you love? Like that one piece was your inspiration for an entire room? That is exactly how this went. This table turned out to be the perfect addition to our dining room and inspired everything else that fell into place afterwards.
