It’s that time again! Reveal day for the Repurpose Design Series team! This will be our third post full of awesome project reveals, and I believe I can speak for all of the ladies when I say thank you again for playing along on Instagram, and for reading through each of our blog posts! Your IG projects seriously have blown us all away! We have had such a blast getting to know each other and seeing each others creative shine through each project, as well as all of yours! If you missed reveal day one and reveal day two, you can find them [here] & [here]. If you are new here, allow me to explain! We each have $20 to salvage something old into something repurposed and fabulous! Antique malls, garage sales, free stuff wherever you can find it, it’s all fair game! We call it our #salvageswagger!

therepurposedesignseriesI found a few potential projects to work on this round, but I have been wanting to do something outside since I plan to work on my summer porch here soon on the blog. I’ve had this ugly old milk canister in our basement since we moved into the house, and I seriously had planned to get rid of it, but I wanted to try something out first. I’m glad that I didn’t throw it out without giving it a little love! You just never know until you try something!

The color on this thing was like a light minty [not the pretty minty] color that just didn’t go with anything. I decided to spray paint it black to match our house shutters and use it on the porch as a flower planter. After a quick run to the store to grab some flowers, I popped off the lid and had a instant planter! I love that if you look close enough you can see the original writing and numbers on it. I also used some leftover pieces of a bean sack that I had from another project of mine to wrap the flowers in, just to give it a little something extra.

  1. I’m a big fan of this. I love the other plant on the woodpile too. I was in West Elm recently and all of their planters were wrapped in burlap with twine, I was ready to run home and do the same to all of mine, but have yet to do so. 🙂
