It is officially 2015!!! I wish each and every one of you a very Happy New Year! It is just crazy to me how quickly time goes by! I started this blog 6 months ago and to me, I haven’t even scratched the surface! I have endless amounts of ideas and projects I want to share with all of you lovely readers, and I really want Little Glass Jar to grow so much this year. Since I always look at the new year as a clean slate, I would love to use this first blog post of 2015 as a personal one so you can get to know me a little better.  And I cannot wait to get to know anyone who wants to introduce themselves too! So here it goes!

15 Basics.

-My name is Ashley. I am responsible for this little piece of the blogosphere.

-I live 45 minutes west of St. Louis Missouri. I love the Midwest and really can’t imagine living anywhere else.

-I am turning 29 this year in February and plan to really enjoy the last year of being in my twenties. Although I am not at all scared of my soon to be thirties, I welcome it!

-I married the love of my life Jordan in May of 2014. It was the perfect day, and I am beyond blessed that I get to have him as my husband. He is everything and more to me.

-My parents have been married 30 years and they are two of the most incredible people I know. I could write a book on how much I love them, and I doubt they will ever know how grateful I am for their love and support.

-I have three brothers, and I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way! One older, two younger. They are seriously my favorites. I grew up playing in the dirt, fishing, loving Ninja Turtles, and stealing their clothes. They make me laugh more than anyone.

-I have two beautiful sister in laws, 3 nephews, 2 nieces, and 1 on the way! All of my in laws are just wonderful and I love how much my family is expanding.

-I absolutely cannot wait to be a mother. It is the one thing in life that excites me the most and makes me so emotional to even think about.

-I am a dog lover until the day I die. There is something about the unconditional love they give that truly amazes me. I grew up with a black lab, then a chocolate lab, and I hope our next one will be a white lab. I’m not sure I could stray from that breed. They are the best in my opinion.

-I got my first job with I turned 16 and have worked ever since. I worked a full time job all through college as a full time student and looking back have no idea how I did it. But really it was all thanks to Starbucks and Red Bull! My parents really instilled a hard work ethic in all four of us kids and I am so so so glad they did.

-I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Missouri St. Louis.

-I’ve worked full time at CitiMortgage for 9 years. I help people keep their homes. I am blessed to have had the opportunity to work from home for the past 3 years.  I am thankful every day for my job.

-I did an internship at an Alzheimer’s Care Center. It is a disease close to my heart as both of my grandparents on my mother’s side passed from it.  I loved every minute of spending time with the residents there. They are so special to me and I will always remember the experience.

-As you can read in my “About Me” section, home décor is my passion in life. I love it. I think about it constantly! If I could redo college I would go for interior design, hands down.

-I am a strong believer that everything happens for a reason. I believe that God gives you what you can handle and that everything, no matter how hard it is to get through, will work itself out.

15 Randoms.

-I get ridiculously excited about Fall. I look forward to it all year, and wished that it lasted longer. I love having all the windows open in my house or driving with them down. I am obsessed with the trees changing color and I love the cooler, crisp air.  I’m not a huge fan of hot weather by any means.

-I have naturally curly hair that I have a love/hate relationship with. It is a hassle to have to deal with, but I really hope it’s something I pass on to my kids.

– I’ve never broken a bone, gotten stitches, or had surgery (other than getting my wisdom teeth taken out), and I guarantee that one day I’ll have to undergo one of these three from tripping in heels. Let’s just say I’m not very graceful.

-When I go to the movies I actually like watching the previews. My favorite type of movies are chick flicks, I cannot get enough of them. I also love scary movies, but as I get older they seem to scare me more and more. I’m also that person who pauses the movie to check out the house and how it’s decorated. My favorite movie house of all time is from “The Lucky One.” Ugh, perfection.

-I have five tattoos. Each one has a very deep sentimental meaning to me.

-I can’t go an entire day without talking to my mom.

-I live in yoga pants and t-shirts. Working from home will do that to you.

-My ideal day would be waking up early, going to breakfast with my husband, then spending the entire day in a little unknown town, antique shopping and exploring. I am a sucker for charming small towns.

-Babies and puppies are my weakness.

-I am addicted to Starbucks but I no longer drink caffeine. The stuggle is real.

-I love trashy reality television. Pretty much every show on Bravo I watch. Lifetime movies are the best. Netflix binge watches are also pretty great.

-I love love love music. Every kind. I turn my music up way too loud but that is just how I like it.

-Reading is something that I really enjoy. Snuggling with a good book is the most relaxing thing to me. I plan to do that more.

-My favorite sport is hockey. My dad and older brother are to blame for that. Going to a game and being surrounded by people who love the sport as much as I do is the best.

-I actually like to clean. Nothing beats the feeling of sitting down exhausted to a spotless house. I also love cooking. I love learning new recipes and then making my husband try them out, and then tweaking them and adding to them. I love cookbooks. I want a huge collection of them in my kitchen someday.
