Window Pane Chalkboard

It is officially Fall and I am loving every second of it!!! Tuesday was not only the start of my favorite season, but also my wonderful husbands birthday. Instead of making his favorite birthday cake, I decided to go a different route this year and attempted my very first homemade, from scratch, apple pie. It took hours. Yes, hours. However, it was worth it for my favorite person, and it was a great little kickoff to the season!!! Check out my instagram for a picture of how it turned out!

Since the fall weather is here, it always increases my motivation to get projects done. I love working with the windows open, or working outside.  A few weeks ago I found an old window pane at an antique mall for eight bucks. It wasn’t in the best shape but I knew I could clean it up and use it for something. I decided to turn it into a chalkboard for my office and it looks so much better.  I used Rust-Oleum Chalk Board paint from Walmart directly on the bottom glass pane, and painted the outside wood with Martha Stewart Crafts Vintage paint in Ivory I bought from Michaels.  It always amazes me what a little paint can do!!! Check it out!
